Questions about whether to use Ethernet or Wi-Fi for connectivity usually get the same answer every single time — a wired connection always beats a wireless one. However, that's in theory, and the real world is rarely that simple. There are seemingly endless reasons why it might be impractical to run an Ethernet cable to a device in your home. In my case, I'm an apartment dweller, and that means I can't run Ethernet wiring through the walls for every device that might need it.
