Questions about whether to use Ethernet or Wi-Fi for connectivity usually get the same answer every single time — a wired connection always beats a wireless one. However, that's in theory, and the real world is rarely that simple. There are seemingly endless reasons why it might be impractical to run an Ethernet cable to a device in your home. In my case, I'm an apartment dweller, and that means I can't run Ethernet wiring through the walls for every device that might need it. Solutions exist for people like me, such as baseboard cord covers, but the cost adds up for these cable management accessories if you attempt to wire your entire apartment or home with Ethernet.
