The common approach to a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) — or, more recently, the black crash screen — on Windows is to note the stop code, then search online for a fix. I have followed these exact steps a few times and can conclude that it's not efficient. You get to discover the kind of crash you had, but rarely does it uncover what triggered the crash.
