I stopped using Microsoft Word and write everything in Markdown now — this is my setup

Microsoft Word has been my writing app for as long as I've been writing professionally. It's familiar, it syncs across devices with a Microsoft 365 subscription, and the layout has barely shifted since the 2000s, which is either comforting or telling depending on the day. For years, I didn't bother to question or change it, because it was just where writing happened.
