[The Next Web] Google announces road show that lets you try Glass in a US city near you, starting with Durham on October 5

Google today announced it is going on a road trip across the US to showcase Google Glass. The company is starting off in Durham, NC, on October 5th, and will be heading to other US cities after that.

If you want to go to the Durham event, you can sign up here (first and last name, plus your email address). The event page features the following (very short) description:

We’ve heard lots of people are interested in experiencing Glass first hand, so we’re taking Glass to cities across the US to give you a chance to do just that.

We’re excited to announce that we’ll be kicking off in the Tar Heel State. Come try Glass, chat with the team, and enjoy local snacks and beverages.

Apart from that, there are just location details as well as Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and email links. Clearly Google is still at the stage of drumming up hype, rather than sharing actual details.

We know you’ll be able to try Glass, but we don’t know for how long. We know anyone can sign up, but we don’t know the number Google will be cutting off at. We know the event will be eight hours long (from 10am to 6pm) but not how long you’ll be able to stay.
