[The Next Web] Google now shows brief earthquake reports in search results


In light of recent tremors in Mexico, today Google announced it will be displaying real-time earthquake reports at the top of all related search results. The reports will include a short “at-a-glance summary” containing information about “the size of the quake, a map of the affected areas, and tips to safely navigate in the aftermath.” The “shakemap” – as Google calls it – will show the epicenter of the earthquake as well as the various intensities at which affected areas were shaken.
