[The Next Web] Google offers Glass owners option to swap their device for a new one that works with shades, prescription frames
Google today announced a program that will let Google Glass owners swap out their device for a new, updated version. The hardware upgrade will allow Glass to work with future lines of shades and prescription frames, according to Google, and will also include a mono earbud.
Google says this is part of its strategy to keep improving Glass. The company already offers monthly software updates for the device, but now it also wants to thank its testers with a hardware upgrade.
The company is also looking to expand its Explorer Program. Over the next few weeks, all Explorers will have the opportunity to invite three friends to join the program, giving the option to buy Glass online have it shipped to them.
“We’re counting on you to get Glass to the people you think will make great Explorers,” Google says. “More Explorers means more feedback, and more feedback means better Glass.”
